About me

RÉSUMÉ

1972 I was born in the small village of Viken in the south of Sweden.

1995 In the summer of '95, I took a four-week course in acoustic guitar building taught by Michael Sandén. That experience literally changed the course of my life. Full of passion and almost boundless dedication, I became obsessed with learning as much as I possibly could about guitar making.

1996 After saving money for months, I went to Timeless Instruments in Tugaske, Canada. There I took two consecutive guitar building courses with David Freeman as my mentor. With two "diplomas" in my pocket, my next goal was to get a British college degree in classical guitar making.

1997 From September '97 to May '98, I was in the UK at the Newark & Sherwood College in their Classical Guitar Making course. I passed with distinction and was eager to gather practical work experience.

1998 I applied for jobs as a luthier in the USA, Australia, and elsewhere. Luckily, I landed a full-time guitar maker position at Lakewood Guitars in Giessen, Germany.

2000 During my time there, I needed (and wanted) to learn the German language, of course. At the same time, my next aim was to qualify myself for and pass the German apprenticeship examination in Mittenwald. After accomplishing this in the spring of 2000, I continued working as a qualified journeyman at Lakewood Guitars.

2004 Four years, and literally thousands of instruments later, I passed my three-day Master Examination in Mittenwald, Germany. The road to independence lay in front of me, so I ended my tenure at Lakewood and set up my own workshop. At that time, I had nothing but two orders from enthusiastic customers, a giant leap of faith... It has paid off. Since then, I've been building and selling my classical guitars all over the world, both to private customers (amateurs and professionals alike) and to specialized dealers of classical guitars in many countries.

Today Almost 30 years since that first guitar-making course, I can, with a huge amount of gratitude (and some pride), say that my instruments are being played and cherished in many different corners of the world, including: Brunei • Canada • China • France • Germany • Indonesia • Israel • Italy • Japan • Mexico • New Zealand • Poland • Singapore • South Korea • Sweden • Switzerland • Thailand • Turkey • United Kingdom • USA • Venezuela
